Burning Coal: Home of the Fighting Possums

First of all, NOBODY SAY OPPOSSUMS!!! THEY'RE POSSUMS!!!

Now that that's out of the way, let's begin. The day started with everyone just talking before class, and it was nice to get to know people more. After that, we did our warmup which, even though it seems weird, is very fun and very helpful. But, because of Ian being forgetful, WE DID NOT BECOME POPCORN!!!
So, the day started and Ian said we had to learn about Shakespeare. Based off of my classes in school and the past two days of reading through the script, I was dreading this. But, as it turned out, it was actually fun, and kind of helpful. Not as an actor persay, but as a thespian.
After that we studied the piece that Ian handed out, and read it out loud with emotion. This really excited me, because it was the first real acting aside from the script reading that I felt we had done so far. But, unfortunately, it was done as a group, and we didn't stem off of it at all.
Lunch was fun, ("Oh look, a possum. SET IT FREE!!!") and then we went back to the stage. Heres where every day I stop learning, and constantly ask the person next to me what time it is. While these sessions where we read the script and work on our blocking are needed, the could be done so much better! Please, if someone reading this blog has any control on what happens, SPLIT UP THE GROUPS!!! It would save SOOO much time and pain, and I think make the play better. For some reason, I thought today would be different, but it wasn't. It seems like after lunch, everything goes downhill.
Also, is anyone on the Friday cast feeling a little neglected? The Saturday cast reads the entire script, and we read half of it. Then, instead of us blocking first, they do. Hopefully it isn't like when we read the script and they cut into our time.
Still a fun day, but I really wish we had more acting, and less time studying Shakespeare. Does 50/50 sound fair?
