Now, I gotta be real with this one. The second half was kind of boring because I didn't get to actively block. I was itching to get on stage, and in the process was probably a nuisance to those around me (Stage Manager, I really am sorry for getting too noisy). For that, I apologize. However, last year we used the same process for double casting, and we got an AMAZING show! So even though sitting on my bum and taking blocking notes from afar wasn't fun: it is an integral part to the process. I know that this show is going to be just as great, and that is why I said today was "fulfilling," not boring or tedious. We blocked the first 11 pages! We accomplished a lot! Despite its lack of "fun" for me, overall we achieved much as an ensemble. And that is the only way you can really think with this show.
*Gets off soapbox* After blocking we talked about costumes. Honestly, I have a little bit of an aversion to extensive talks about clothes, so that was a tad painful. Until today I thought there was only one kind of khakis: the brown kind. But once again we did accomplish costuming the show. And speaking in the perspective of the ensemble, it was worth the pain!
I can't wait to hear what Nikki Tores from the Folger Shakespeare Library has to say tomorrow, and I am super pumped to actively block tomorrow! Keep it positive! With a little paciencia y fe (patience and faith for those without a reliable translator website), we can ALL make this play come to life, sitting or not! :D
