First Post, Second day

SO, I didn't post yesterday, but I would just like to start off saying that this is my first year doing STC and I can already tell that I'm going to love it. I met new and interesting people both yesterday and today and I couldn't be happier with the sense of ensemble that's already present in such a large group. It's gonna be fun y'all.

I don't blog much, but I guess I should probably say a little bit about myself. I love the arts, quite a bit. I'm activley involved in acting and singing and recently I've begun to explore creative writing, and found I rather enjoy it. I've even started writing a play. On the side I read kind of a lot, and I mess around with archery (I don't hunt, I shoot at a target).

Okay, boring stuff about me out of the way. Yesterday I had no idea what I was getting into, but the games were all fun, especially the human knot (which is kind of a favorite of mine) and the game where we had to get into groups ("What is this, basketball??"). Working the show was nice too, and it helped to go over and figure out what was happening in some of those scenes that completley lost me.

Today we worked on making objects and people more powerful and focus work, which I've never done before, but found very interesting and useful. The voice work I'd done some of before, but it was nice to do it again, especially since I haven't done any kind of voice work since school ended. Again, rehersal was helpful, but I have to say, it'll be a relief to start blocking tomorrow. Moving is good.

PS - I think it's worth mentioning that we should all be supportive to Ian. His slip up today ("Families touch each other") is not something to be mocked, but rather a cry for help from a man with a broken childhood. Let's all be there to love and support him in his time of need.

PPS - I love you Ian.
